Education &
Awareness Materials

Clear, practical information for people affected by vascular disease

The Foundation to Advance Vascular Cures provides free, easy-to-understand educational resources for people living with vascular disease, those at risk, and the families, caregivers, and loved ones who support them.

Our materials are designed to make complex vascular health information more accessible and useful in everyday life. They can help people better understand vascular conditions, recognize risk factors and symptoms, prepare for conversations with their healthcare team, and take a more active role in their health.

All materials are developed with input from medical professionals and patients and caregivers to help ensure they are accurate, relevant, and accessible.

Patient Engagement & Partnership

Vascular Cures works with patients, caregivers, researchers, clinicians, and communities to ensure that lived experience helps shape vascular health research, education, and care.

Our patient engagement work includes education and training, compensated advisory roles, community-based initiatives, and research partnerships that involve patients throughout the research process. We also lead and participate in projects that use patient engagement approaches tailored to specific communities and clinical comparative effectiveness research questions, among others.

Patients are Partners

Helping patients and caregivers move from learning to leadership

Patients are Partners is Vascular Cures’ program for preparing and partnering with people affected by vascular disease to participate meaningfully in research.

Through education and training, patients and caregivers can learn how research works, understand the value of their lived experience, and prepare to serve as advisors and partners on research and each project. Patient partners are compensated for their time and expertise when they serve in these roles.

Some participants also go on to develop their own ideas, lead community-based activities, or apply for microgrants to advance vascular health in the communities they know best.
