Alan Tan from Singapore was diagnosed with PAD on March 13, 2026, after learning he had two significant arterial blockages that were too high risk for surgery. He committed to quitting smoking immediately, taking his prescribed blood pressure, cholesterol, and aspirin medications, and following a consistent walking and resistance training program to improve his circulation. His hard work has led to remarkable progress, allowing him to increase from just 15 minutes on the treadmill with pain after four minutes to walking comfortably for an hour, as well as walking more than 10,000 steps a day, climbing stairs, and enjoying long walks without claudication. The PAD support group gave him valuable education, motivation, and hope, helping him stay committed to exercise and lifestyle changes so he could regain the independence he feared he had lost.
