Vascular Cures Welcomes Two New Advisory Board Members

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Patrick Chong and Dr. Gaurav Sharma, as the newest members of the Foundation to Advance Vascular Cures Advisory Board. Their expertise in vascular surgery, clinical research, patient-centered care, and education will bring valuable perspectives to our work advancing vascular health.

Patrick Chong, MBSS, FRCS

Patrick Chong is a Clinical Lead and Head of the Regional Vascular Unit at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust in the United Kingdom. He is actively involved in clinical research and has served as a principal investigator for the IMPROVE, EVRA, BASIL-2, and BASIL-3 trials, and currently the EVOCC trial. His clinical and research interests are in PAD, CLTI, and multidisciplinary diabetic foot care. He also serves on the Specialist Interest Group for Diabetic Foot Care for the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland.

Gaurav Sharma, MD

Dr. Gaurav Sharma is a board-certified, fellowship-trained vascular and endovascular surgeon with The Permanente Medical Group and serves as Assistant Chief of Surgery at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara. He is also an affiliated Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Stanford Medicine and Regional Vascular Surgery Technology Lead. His work focuses on evidence-based, patient-centered vascular care, combining innovative endovascular technologies with established surgical techniques to develop individualized treatment plans that reflect each patient’s needs, goals, and values.
