Gaurav Sharma, MD

Gaurav Sharma, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained vascular and endovascular surgeon with The Permanente Medical Group and serves as Assistant Chief of Surgery at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara. He is also an affiliated Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Stanford Medicine, a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the Permanente Institute of Medical Education, and Regional Vascular Surgery Technology Lead. Dr. Sharma earned his medical degree with honors from the Keck School of Medicine of USC and completed his general surgery residency and fellowship training in vascular and endovascular surgery at Brigham and Women’s Heart and Vascular Center/Harvard Medical School. He also received advanced training in aortic endovascular surgery at L’Hôpital Marie Lannelongue in Paris, France. Since joining Kaiser Permanente in 2020, he has focused on providing evidence-based, patient-centered vascular care, combining innovative endovascular technologies with established surgical techniques to develop individualized treatment plans that reflect each patient’s needs, goals, and values. Dr. Sharma has published and presented extensively on vascular surgery and related topics at regional, national, and international conferences and has received multiple awards for his research, teaching, and clinical work.
