Vascular disease, called the "silent killer" because it often shows no symptoms, can strike any one, at any age and at any time. It is often undiagnosed and poorly treated. As a result, nearly one person dies of vascular disease and related complications every 30 seconds.

VascularCures is doing something that has never been done before in vascular disease. Teams of doctors, who also perform research in the lab, work side-by-side with scientists to solve the problems they see while treating patients - bringing ideas from the patient to the lab and back to the patient, instead of the other way around. VascularCures is bridging the gap between science and medicine.

Our latest initiative focuses on peripheral artery disease (PAD). One of the most common types of cardiovascular disease, sometimes referred to as atherosclerosis of "hardening of the arteries," PAD is often the first sign of heart disease.
